Forgiveness Is The Bridge From The Old To The New
By Kelly Joachim |
A bridge is a pathway which connects two points, helping us to navigate from one destination to another.
When we desire to be in a new place, a new reality, oftentimes we may want to skip the process of getting there and arrive immediately.
Transversing the gap in between due to impatience or blocks in our way.
The self-inflicted forces that can hold us back and prevent us from moving ahead are often linked to anger or resentment.
Towards ourselves, life and others.
What I see with my clients, and what I’ve experienced within my own healing journey is that forgiveness closes that gap.
Forgiveness creates that bridge which allows us to level up.
It helps us to release angst from our field — that stored, pent up energy which can obscure our view forward.
This does not mean that we have to agree with the actions of others, or that we are somehow validating their expression.
It simply means that we are willing to hold them with more understanding, love and compassion.
I always use the story of the Grinch as an example.
When we learn why he is so mean towards others during one of the most joyous times of the year, we are able to empathize with him and his projected trauma.
Rather than talking poorly about him, judging him or being nasty in return, we are able to hold him in the field of love, compassion and forgiveness.
Can you feel energetically how expansive this perspective is?
I’d love to open up the floor for some introspection today as we meditate to this sound current.
Whom are you ready to forgive?
What are you willing to release in order to clear space for the new within?
