THE ROSE PARADE

I still remember the very first time I learned about Synchronicity. It was the start of 2002, the year my brother marched in the Rose Parade.

Andy and I were raised in Galion, OH, a small town outside of Columbus. My father retired as a Microbiology professor from The Ohio State University, and my mother who was a Grad student at OSU, taught classes there as well.

You could call us diehard Buckeye fans.

I have very fond memories growing up visiting the Alumni Club, tailgating and attending the Horseshoe on any given Saturday.

If you happen to be a Big Ten fan or somewhat knowledgable of college football, then you likely understand the significance of playing in The Rose Bowl game, aka “The Granddaddy of Them All.” If you happen to be an OSU fan, then you likely have a deep appreciation for marching bands, especially “The Best Damn Band In The Land.”

Fast forward to my brother’s senior year as an Undergrad at the University of Miami. Andy was the drum major for The U’s “Band of The Hour” and Miami was seeded to play in the BCS National Championship game against Nebraska at, wait for it…

The Rose Bowl.

This was a HUGE deal for our family, and we were all buzzing!

It was also remarkable because the Rose Bowl game was typically reserved for the Big Ten and Pac 10 champs. But this year was different. For the first time in history, The Rose Bowl was designated to host the BCS title game!

My mom planned a family trip to celebrate this special occasion because there was ZERO chance she would miss her son march in the celebrated Rose Parade, yet alone an opportunity to rub shoulders with Kirk Herbstreit.

I think I could stop here, and this story would be pretty sweet. But there’s more. Let me explain.

December 17 has always been a significant date to our family. My great-grandfather worked in the Wright Brother’s bicycle shop in Dayton, OH and 12/17 marks the day of the very first flight in Kitty Hawk, NC. My brother was born on December 17, so we spent nearly every summer traveling to NC to visit the Wright Brothers National Memorial on State Rd 1217.

When we arrived in Pasadena, CA that fateful day everything fell into place.

We started to head to the bleachers to cheer Andy on and that’s when my mother realized something spectacular. Our seats were assigned to Section 1217.

Once we settled in and started to take in the scenery, I happened to notice another wild synchronicity. Directly across the street there was a quaint little store called, “Andy’s Coffee Shop.”

How incredible!

Ever since this day I have become fascinated with synchronicities and the law of attraction; I am extremely grateful for these signs or God Winks, as I like to call them. They have served faithfully as a reminder of my Divinity, opening me up to my life’s purpose and leading me to a far greater understanding and expansion in consciousness than I ever thought possible.

Every single day I am in awe of how life can flow so perfectly in sync —  how we can truly be deliberate co-creator’s of our reality with Source Energy.

1217 still continues to appear in miraculous ways for myself and my family.

Oh, and Miami won that game too!
