Upon making an offer on our first home, I realized the geographical location was Divinely orchestrated.

My husband and I were in Virginia visiting my brother for the weekend while we were in the middle of negotiating an offer with the Wright Place, a new construction townhome community in Wood-Ridge, NJ. 

I remember taking a call with the realtor from his guest bedroom, and then deciding to proceed with placing a deposit on our first home.

We were so ecstatic to embark on this new chapter, and to have the opportunity to customize a house for our growing family.

I sat on the bed afterwards perusing photos of the model homes on the developer’s website, just taking it all in.

That’s when my curiosity and inner guidance led me to the ‘History’ tab and the headline at the top of the page immediately caught my attention: “Curtis Wright Aircraft Facility.”

In my previous post, The Rose Parade, I shared how the Wright Brothers play a significant role in my family history — that my great-grandfather worked in their bicycle shop in Dayton, OH, and how my brother was born in Ohio on December 17th, the day of the first flight in Kitty Hawk, NC.

Growing up, we spent nearly every summer visiting the Wright Brothers National Memorial.

As you can imagine, I was pretty shocked to see this headline and as I read on, my heart started to beat a little faster with anticipation.

That day I learned our very first home was primed for construction on the same property the CW plant designed, tested, and built airplane engines in the 1940s.

And I quote,

“CW was named after its founders, Glenn Curtis and the Wright Brothers. Wilbur & Orville Wright, two bicycle shop workers from Ohio, made the world’s first airplane flight in 1903.”

I sat there, literally laughing out loud at The Universe.

Of all the places to put down roots on planet Earth, my husband and I were guided to the Wright Place.

Smiling from ear to ear, I ran downstairs to share the synchronistic news with our family.

Captured below is a sign from the local train station, Wesmont, which pays homage to CW among other historical sites in town.
